Since I enjoyed my last MOOC so much, I have joined a second one – Metadata: Organizing and Discovering Information, taught by Dr. Jeffrey Pomerantz of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Follow us on twitter at #metadatamooc .
So far the video lectures have been very comprehensive and easy to follow. Jeffrey Pomerantz is a great lecturer UNC-Chapel Hill! Even though I already took a graduate-level metadata class for my MS-LIS, I really appreciate hearing the same topics explained by different professors. These topics are ones that I use every day: Dublin Core, XML, Linked Data… etc. I would recommend anyone who is a library school student or is interested in digital libraries/archives/information science to try out this MOOC.
